The questions people actually ask. If yours isn't here, a human will reply to you.
Common questions
Do I need to verify my identity to receive gifts?
No. TackNote never asks you to upload an ID, take a selfie or wait on manual approval. Choose a handle, add your first item and your page can accept gifts straight away. Verification is only ever needed if you cash out gifts as money, because payment processors require it by law.
What does TackNote cost?
There is a flat 0.5% service fee and nothing else. No subscription, no listing fees, no percentage skimmed off the top of each gift. Creating a page, adding items and receiving gifts are all free.
Will the person sending a gift see my address?
Never. Gifts are delivered to a TackNote fulfilment centre and forwarded to you. The sender only sees a confirmation that the gift arrived — no street name, no postcode, no legal name.
Which shops can I add items from?
Any shop with a public product URL. Paste the link and TackNote pulls in the title, image and price automatically. That includes Amazon, Etsy, eBay, IKEA, Nike and thousands of smaller independent stores.
Can several people club together for one expensive item?
Yes. Turn any item into a crowdfunded gift and your community can each chip in what they can afford. You will see progress towards the total, and the item is ordered once it is fully funded.
How long does it take to set up a page?
About five minutes. There is no shop to build, no inventory to manage and no shipping labels to print — just a handle, a short bio and the things you actually want.
Shipping & returns
How long does forwarding take?
An item usually reaches our fulfilment centre in the retailer's normal delivery window, then leaves for you within one working day. Cross-border forwarding adds however long the destination's customs process takes.
Who pays customs or import duty?
Where duty is charged on a forwarded parcel it is settled before the parcel is released, and the amount appears on the gift record. The full policy is still being finalised — see the terms of service.
What if a gift arrives damaged?
We check parcels when they reach the fulfilment centre. If something is damaged we deal with the retailer directly and re-order where possible, so it does not become the supporter's problem or yours.
Can I return something I have been sent?
Yes, within the retailer's own returns window. Contact support and we will start the return using the original order — you will not need to reveal your address to do it.
What happens if a parcel goes missing?
Tell us and we will chase the carrier. If it cannot be recovered we re-order the item where the retailer allows it, otherwise the contribution is returned.
Still stuck?
Send us the details and we will get back to you, usually within a working day.
